The United Nations recently launched a special stamp series in honor of Beijing’s Palace Museum as it approaches its centennial milestone. The event, named “Endless Vitality: UN Stamp Launch & Palace Museum Exhibition,” highlighted the museum’s rich historical legacy and cultural significance. The UN Postal Administration released 10 unique floral designs inspired by the museum’s extensive collection, symbolizing centuries of cross-cultural exchange. Wu Di, director of the Cultural and Creative Development Department at the Palace Museum, emphasized the commitment to preserving and innovating China’s cultural heritage through various initiatives. Originally known as China’s Forbidden City, the Palace Museum stands as a testament to the imperial history of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The commemorative stamps not only celebrate the museum’s 100th anniversary but also coincide with International Museum Day, showcasing the institution’s pivotal role in promoting global cultural understanding and cooperation.
