From Bedroom Studio to Arena Tour
Imagine going from creating music in your bedroom to touring massive arenas worldwide. That’s the dream journey Derby-born Alessi Rose is living right now. At just 22 years old, she’s already supporting global pop sensations like Dua Lipa and Tate McRae on their upcoming tours.
“It’s so wild that I released my first song only two years ago and now I am touring in huge arenas across the world,” Alessi shares enthusiastically. Her musical career has been a whirlwind since those early days of crafting tunes in her makeshift bedroom studio.
Finding Her Path to Stardom
Growing up in Derby, Alessi didn’t have the typical musician backstory. With no musical connections or family members in the industry, she had to pave her own way into the music world. The Covid pandemic provided her with the time and space she needed to dive into making music seriously.
“I remember being in my room whilst I was living at home in Littleover, where I had the weirdest music setup of my old keyboard and a 15-year-old MacBook that I was producing my songs on,” recalls Rose. Her determination paid off when her tracks caught the attention of Dean Jackson’s BBC Introducing programs, leading to performances at renowned festivals like Ynot? and Reading and Leeds.
From Small Venues to Stadiums
After wrapping up her successful UK tour in 2024, Alessi found herself comfortable transitioning from intimate venues to grand stadiums. The experience prepared her for gracing Dua Lipa’s colossal stages without missing a beat.
“I have always joked about my own headline tour because we had a lot of staging and effects; people said it felt like an arena show,” Alessi reflects on her growth as a performer. Despite the magnitude of these stages, she radiates calmness infused with sheer excitement every time she steps out onto them.
The Glamorous Touring Life
Beyond the electric energy of performing on stage, life on tour with Dua Lipa has brought unexpected delights for Alessi and her bandmates. From indulging in pasta feasts to developing an affinity for pickleball (yes, pickleball!), their downtime activities add a touch of whimsy amidst all the glitz and glamor.
“Me and the band are going to eat pasta downstairs, and we have gained an obsession with pickleball,” Alessi shares from Lyon, France. Amidst savoring these simple pleasures on tour, she continues to be awestruck by sharing stages with icons like Dua Lipa and Tate McRae.
