Custodian Investment Plc Record Dividend Amid Profit Surge

Custodian Investment Plc, a multifaceted investment group with interests in insurance, pensions, trusteeship, and real estate, is set to distribute a final dividend of N6.5 billion to its shareholders for the previous year. This translates to N1.10 per share and marks a significant increase from the preceding year’s interim dividend of N0.15 per share. The total payout for the financial year 2024 is expected to reach N7.4 billion, showcasing the company’s commitment to rewarding its investors.

Financial Performance and Growth

The decision to propose this substantial dividend payment comes on the heels of Custodian Investment’s impressive financial performance. In 2024, the company reported a remarkable 172.1% surge in annual net profit, reaching a record high of N53.5 billion. This growth was primarily driven by an upswing in revenue from its insurance services segment.

Interest income also experienced robust growth of 54.7%, with investments playing a pivotal role in driving this expansion. Operating and investment income saw a notable increase of 68.4%, underlining the company’s strategic financial management and operational efficiency.

Strategic Acquisitions and Diversification

Last September, Custodian Investment made strategic moves by partnering with Aion Investment and Evercorp Industries to acquire FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited fully. This acquisition allowed Custodian Investment to diversify its investments within the financial services sector, expanding its presence and influence in key industries.

With assets under management exceeding $1.1 billion currently, Custodian Investment has solidified its position as a leading player in Nigeria’s financial landscape.

Unprecedented Growth Trajectory

The company witnessed exceptional progress across various metrics during the period under review. Unrealised foreign exchange gains surged by nearly one-third to N23.2 billion, underscoring sound risk management practices and market foresight.

Profit before tax soared by an impressive 133.4%, climbing to N60.7 billion from previous levels, while profit after tax more than doubled from N19.7 billion to an astounding N53.5 billion within just one year.

Total assets also experienced substantial growth, reaching N407.3 billion compared to N269.8 billion previously—a testament to Custodian Investment’s robust business model and strategic vision for sustainable expansion.

In conclusion, Custodian Investment Plc’s proposal for an unprecedented final dividend payout reflects not only its strong financial performance but also its unwavering commitment to delivering value to shareholders amidst dynamic market conditions.
