The Enugu State Government, under the leadership of Commissioner for Youth and Sports Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, has left no stone unturned in its preparations to ensure a spectacular event that surpasses all expectations.
In a recent statement, Commissioner Ekweremadu exuded confidence in their ability to deliver an exceptional experience for both athletes and officials.
“We have carefully understudied the Ogun 2024 Games and are committed to building on its successes,”
Ekweremadu shared with reporters. The promise to raise the bar set by Ogun State sets high expectations for what is to come.
One of the key highlights of Enugu’s preparations is the establishment of a state-of-the-art games village, aimed at providing a comfortable and conducive environment for participants. Additionally, there will be a strong focus on seamless transportation logistics to ensure smooth movement during the festival period.
Ekweremadu also reassured journalists that accreditation processes would be streamlined for their convenience.
“We will work with SWAN executives for the accreditation of journalists that will be reporting the games,”
he affirmed. Furthermore, ensuring adequate security measures are in place remains a top priority for Governor Mbah and his team.
Beyond being just a sporting event, Ekweremadu emphasized that the festival presents an opportunity to showcase Enugu’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
“We have many tourist attractions in Enugu—the environment is serene, we have waterfalls and a beautiful cultural history that people can enjoy,”
he explained enthusiastically.
