Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has recently unveiled plans that are set to revolutionize the transportation landscape in the state. The 17-kilometer Sango-Ijoko road is at the forefront of this initiative, with the governor highlighting key strategies for its swift completion.
During an inspection of ongoing road projects within Ifo Local Government Area, Governor Abiodun revealed his intention to divide the Sango-Ijoko road into two sections. This strategic move aims to expedite construction efforts and ensure timely delivery of a vital transportation artery for residents.
Abiodun also announced significant progress on the 3.25 kilometers Alagbole-Ajuwon-Akute road, emphasizing that it is scheduled for commissioning by February 2025. These developments underscore the administration’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and fostering connectivity across communities in Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun’s Vision
In his address during the inspection, Governor Abiodun reiterated his dedication to improving road networks in border areas, particularly those linking Ogun State with Lagos. He emphasized the importance of facilitating seamless cross-border movement and enhancing overall travel experiences for residents.
“I am giving you my commitment because this constituency is of extreme importance to us; it is our border community with Lagos State,” expressed Governor Abiodun. “It is important for us to make that cross-border experience as pleasurable as possible for the citizens, and that is our 100% commitment.”

The Chairman of Ifo CDC, Akangbe Olatunde, lauded Governor Abiodun for prioritizing infrastructure development in the region. The ongoing construction work on the Ajuwon-Akute road was acknowledged as a significant milestone that brings joy and optimism to the people of Ifo Local Government.
Additionally, Hadijat Adeleye, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, reflected on past challenges faced by residents due to neglect from previous administrations. She expressed gratitude towards Governor Abiodun for rejuvenating hope and transforming local infrastructure through proactive governance.
“We have gone through so much suffering in this area… But God sent someone; he sent Governor Dapo Abiodun to come and give us succor,” remarked Adeleye. “We are most grateful to him.”
