Tinubus Ally Masari Voters Have No Regrets

Ibrahim Masari, a staunch supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently expressed unwavering confidence in the choice made by voters who cast their ballots for the president during the 2023 general elections. In an interview with the BBC, Masari, a prominent figure within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasized that those who supported Tinubu have no reason to regret their decision.

“Anyone who voted for President Tinubu between himself and God has no regrets,”

Masari affirmed. He lauded Tinubu’s performance as president, particularly highlighting his administration’s achievements in critical areas such as security and the economy. Despite acknowledging the prevailing challenges faced by many Nigerians, Masari commended Tinubu for implementing significant measures aimed at national development.

Masari specifically pointed out one of Tinubu’s bold moves – the removal of fuel subsidy. Defending this controversial decision, Masari described it as a necessary step that has enabled the government to channel resources into vital development projects. He noted that previous presidents had contemplated removing fuel subsidy but lacked the political will to do so.

“Past presidents wanted to do it but couldn’t. He did it because of how much of the country’s money was being wasted,”

Masari explained. By redirecting funds previously allocated to subsidies towards important sectors of national growth and progress, both federal and state governments have been able to operate more efficiently.

Despite recognizing the hardships experienced by many Nigerians due to these policy changes, Masari underscored that such decisions are pivotal for laying a foundation for a stronger and more stable country in the long term.

The discussion around President Tinubu’s leadership continues to spark debates among Nigerians from various walks of life. While some applaud his bold decisions as necessary steps towards progress, others raise concerns about their immediate impact on citizens’ welfare.

Experts suggest that while removing fuel subsidy may bring long-term benefits in terms of economic stability and infrastructure development, its short-term ramifications cannot be overlooked. The challenge lies in striking a balance between immediate relief for citizens grappling with rising living costs and ensuring sustainable growth for the nation as a whole.

As discussions on President Tinubu’s policies unfold across Nigeria, voices from different quarters contribute diverse perspectives on what lies ahead for the nation under his leadership. Time will tell how these decisions shape Nigeria’s future trajectory and its impact on its people.
